Fighting homeschool burnout? Weather got you down? Can’t get out to play? Here are some fun activities that can help you pass the time until spring arrives!
- Have a snowball fight – with cotton balls or paper
- Make snowflake cut outs
- Re-read a favorite book
- Learn to make soup and grilled cheese
- Play flashlight tag
- Work a jigsaw puzzle
- Clean out your closet & donate unwanted items
- Make a fort out of blankets and pillows
- Create a picture out of nothing but toothpicks or popsicle sticks
- Play old-fashioned paper and pencil games like tic-tac-toe
- Get out the board games
- Create your very own “new” board game
- Have a picnic on the living room floor (or other fun indoor location)
- Grow herbs on a sunny kitchen window
- Have a Lego or block building contest
- Learn a new skill – like soap carving
- Write a letter to grandma or someone special
- Give yourself a manicure (Mom too!)
- Enjoy a milk and cookie break
- Listen to some classical music
- Learn to knit or crochet
- Make an indoor obstacle course
- Play indoor bowling with plastic cups
- Memorize the books of the Bible, Presidents of the United States, States and Capitals, etc.
- Play balloon tennis with flyswatters and a balloon
- Make a scavenger hunt for mom and dad
- Play classic, no-materials needed games like red light, green light and Simon says
- Make something out of a cardboard box
- Get out the play dough or make your own
- Play hot potato
- Have a dance party
- Reorganize or rearrange your room
- Perform an act of service for each member in your family
- Play hopscotch in the hallway
- Paint or draw
- Play pretend – set up a restaurant, store, or library using things around the house
