INTERVIEW: ‘The Star’ Is Faithful To Scripture, Director Timothy Reckart Says

It will be the first faith-based animated movie at the box office in nearly a decade, and it features an all-star cast that will garner mainstream attention.

It is The Star, which will open in theaters Nov. 17 and tells the nativity story through the eyes of animals who witnessed Christ’s birth. It is being released by the same company – AFFIRM Films – that also released Courageous and War Room.

The film’s director, Timothy Reckart, joins us this week for a special edition of Live The Adventure Radio.

“It was so important to be true to what our audience believes and what I believe, as a person of faith,” Reckart said.

Reckart also tells us:

  • How the film stayed true to Scripture while “filling in the gaps.”
  • What is was like to work with talent such as Tyler Perry and Patricia Heaton.
  • Why he wanted to get involved in the project.
  • What he hopes to convey to audiences through the film.

Finally, Timothy tells us all about the day-to-day job of an animated film director.
