Celebrate! 12 Special End-Of-Year Activities

Whether you homeschool year-round or follow a more traditional schedule and enjoy a summer break, it’s always nice to celebrate the passage of another homeschool year together. Take some time this spring or summer to acknowledge your family’s hard work in home education and celebrate your child’s accomplishments this homeschool year.

  • Have an ice cream sundae promotion night. Invite the grandparents!
  • Plan a swim party or summer celebration with other homeschooling families.
  • Take “last day of school” pictures.
  • Give every child in your family/homeschool an end-of-the-year award of some kind. Get creative!
  • Throw confetti on the last day of school or on “move up day” for year-round homeschoolers.
  • Sign up for the summer reading program at your local library.
  • Go on a really fun field trip, or plan an extended field-trip/vacation.
  • Enjoy a day-cation around town.
  • Host a personalized promotion night, or a show-and-tell fair where your child shows off their accomplishments for the year. Invite family and friends.
  • Have your musically talented and trained children give an end-of-the-year concert.
  • Go out to eat and enjoy a special meal to celebrate. Or have a special meal at home … taco bar, homemade pizzas, whatever your family likes.
  • Send mom to the spa for a day, or arrange for another special treat to allow her to relax and celebrate too!
