When Wesley Bauguess talks about grieving, people listen. Ten years ago, her husband, Army Major Larry Bauguess, was shot and killed while acting as a human shield, protecting his unit during an ambush on what was supposed to be a peace-keeping mission in Pakistan.
Suddenly, Bauguess was a widow left to care for two young daughters.
Bauguess is this week’s guest on Words of Wisdom and the author of the new book, “God, County, Golf: Reflections of an Army Widow.” (Published by Westbow Press, a division of Thomas Nelson.)
Bauguess tells us:
- Why she chose to revisit the tragedy, first by writing a book and then by doing interviews.
- What people should (and shouldn’t) say to someone who is grieving.
- How her Christian faith gave her strength to face the future.
