Heather Avis’ journey into parenthood didn’t go as planned. But in hindsight, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
She and her husband struggled with infertility until God led them down the path of adoption. Yet even that had a surprise, when the couple felt led to adopt not one but two children with Down syndrome. Today, they are the parents of three beautiful children: Macyn, Truly and August.
Heather is the author of the new book, The Lucky Few: Finding God’s Best in the Most Unlikely Places (Zondervan). She also is this week’s guest on Words of Wisdom.
