‘Paul’ Actor James Faulkner Angered By Persecution Of Christians; Hopes Film Makes A Difference

If you’ve watched the television hit Downton Abbey, then you’ve seen James Faulkner in action – as Lord Sinderby, Rose Aldridge’s father-in-law.

But as Faulkner himself will tell you, nothing compares to the role he plays in his latest film, Paul: Apostle of Christ, which opens Friday (March 23) nationwide. Faulkner plays the lead role of Paul, who in the film is sitting in a Roman prison and awaiting execution.

Faulkner is this week’s guest on Entertainment Spotlight.

Paul: Apostle of Christ is being released by Affirm, the same company behind War Room and Courageous. Faulkner said he wants the movie to inspire people but also to open their eyes to the modern-day persecution of Christians worldwide.

“It astounds me that in 2018, that one still reads nearly every day about persecution of a Christian,” he said.

Faulkner said he grows angered by “the lack of respect for those who follow” the Christian faith.
